Ornamental Shrubs: We classify our deciduous
shrubs into short, medium, and tall heights in our sales area. The
most popular landscape shrubs are offered in more than one size for our
customers who prefer to buy smaller sizes. Rhododendrons and Azaleas
are grouped together and offer a fantastic show of color in the
spring. Most of these are from the U of M with good bud hardiness.

|
Shrub Roses: This year we offer approximately
70 varieties including the popular Park & Morden varieties, the
Pavements, some hardier Buck varieties and some Antique and David Austin
English Roses. Our roses are potted in 3-gallon pots. We do
feature 1-gallon sizes in the spring at Mother's Day. Our new sales
area is available again this year to provide a larger display area.

Most of our shrub
roses are "own root" which have the following advantages:
 |
Extremely
hardy tops; region true even though plant dies back to crown |
 |
Longer-lived
due to elimination of bud incompatibility |
 |
No root
suckers from understock that are not true to plant |
 |
Shrub roses
have three bloom cycles |
Definitions:
Non-recurrent
bloom - Blooms once a year
Recurrent bloom
- Blooms at time in succession throughout a flowering season
